However I studied in the heart of Europe, Brussels, I wanted to expand my horizon even further by an experience abroad. The three pillars of The Washington Center – educational and professional achievement, civic engagement and leadership – is a great combination to provide you with many and new useful competences. Also, Washington DC is not only one of the most beautiful cities I have ever been, but also the political center of the United States. In other words, it is the perfect background for this experience.



 

My internship at Ventana Productions, a small production company and the course Media and the Movies learned me a lot of both practical and theoretical insight in the American media. Also, I participated in a civic engagement project concerning homelessness. I had the chance to listen to former homeless people and cook at a shelter. Finally, The Washington Center invited a lot of interesting people talking about leadership and international affairs. The combination of all these experiences gave me many new strengths and reshaped my personality.
